Description
The beautiful water of Lake Wollumboola and the ocean you can burly see right at the top of the sand dune. This sandune is divider between the lake and the Warrain beach which stretches to Jervis bay.
This is in the state of NSW of Australia. Lake Wollumboola is one of some 90 coastal lakes in NSW formed following the Ice Ages, when the sea level rose, flooding river valleys. The wind and waves built up sand barriers, in some cases closing off the entrances and causing the lake beds to accumulate sediments over many thousands of years.
The Lake bed covers some 10 square kilometres, with a relatively small catchment of some 40 square kilometres.
