Description
The Commonwealth Franchise Act 1902 was an Act of the Parliament of Australia which defined a uniform national criteria of who was entitled to vote in Australian federal elections.
It granted Australian women the right to vote at a national level, and to stand for election to the Parliament. Unfortunately this didn't apply to aboriginal people !
I took this photographed of a poster in Spirit Of Anzac Exhibition in Sydney 2017. The first section take a brief journey back in time to what life was like in Australia before the outbreak of the First World War. 1901 -1914.

The hats from back in the day...a piece of history well recorded here. Nicely presented Miroslava.
