Description
Red-Legged Pademelons are shy, elusive little creatures, not seen easily in their dense habitat of predominantly rainforest.
Their name is thought to have come from the word ‘Paddymalla” which is an Aboriginal term for ‘small kangaroo from the forest’. They much smaller then wallabies, they way between 3 -6 kg, and grow to about 50cm.
Their conservation status is vulnerable !!! Mostly due to lost of habitat , cats and dogs.
This picture was taken at Wildlife sanctuary at Darling Harbour in Sydney.
