Description
This picture of HMB Endeavour was taken on the 2nd day of the International Navy Fleet Review, Oct. 2013 in Darling Harbour Sydney.
The Australian-built replica of James Cook's HMB Endeavour is one of the world's most accurate maritime reproductions.
There are three masts on this ship and sailers work the sails by pulling on those ropes. It is called rigging. You'll see almost 30 kilometres (10 miles) of ropes and 750 wooden blocks or pulleys! The masts and spars carry 28 sails that spread approximately 10,000 sq feet (930 m2) of canvas. Its a lots of work manage all those ropes and sailes.
