Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Its reported that 30 merchant ships were lost by enemy attack in Australia waters with 654 deaths. In 1941, as the war escalated, Australian and allied merchant ships were requisitioned by the Shipping Control Board. Merchant ships were a vital part of the war effort because they carried supplies to troops up in the islands, materials for ship building, munitions and all the things that would keep the country going during the war.
These men in the picture are heros from WW2 !
