I am not sure what type of banksia it is, but most of the seed pots look pretty similar, You can see where the seeds sits, after while they start opening or cracking and the seeds fall out. You can see them on most bushwalks around Australia. This one is from Fairfax walk in North Head Sydney. And the interesting thing I find out was that if you google seed pos, people make vases, candle holders and other interesting stuff out of it !
