Description
You have probably seen many photos of the Eastern honeyeater in my collection, and this is his relative who is now endangered .
Taronga Zoo has established a zoo-bred population as part of a recovery plan. Regent Honeyeaters can be seen at the Blue Mountains Bush Walk at Taronga Zoo. So far, almost 200 birds have been bred at Taronga and released into the wild at Mt Chiltern, Victoria. Breeding between captive bred and wild birds has already been recorded which is evidence of the success of this conservation program.
Loosing honeyeaters would mean damaging our eco system !!

Thank you, its great that we don't behave like Australians of the past who wipe out few animals in very short time ! :)
